Towards “Palilula night”, president of  Palilula Municipality, Prof. dr Igor Novakovic and the member of Municipal Council Milos Stojkovic, visited the workers, that finishing works on the construction of aesthetic regulation fences and gates of east side of the Old Nis`cemetery “Gorica”. It was set and the bulletin board at the gate with the inscription of this complex, which is since 1987. placed under the protection of the law and represents a significant cultural property.

Anyway, after three decades of "stillness" in 2009. began with the implementation of a three-years project "Regulation of the Old Cemetery" which financing is approved from the budget of the City of Nis. In year 2009 it was completed the restoration activities, organized cleaning of this space and works on the "eastern gate" and in the first half of 2010 it is continued with regulation of this space. However, in the opinion of the President Novakovic, as long as this complex is not put under permanent protection, regular maintenance and monitoring, can not be expected to successfully achieving the set goals. After all, the vandals continue to destroy the graves, there is forming wild dumps, vegetation is re-covered space that we have cleaned -Novakovic said. We expect that the conditions will be created by the end of 2012th, that the whole complex of the “Old Cemetery under the Gorica “, gets a whole new look. Preliminary design conservation and restoration works, which was prepared in cooperation with the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments in Nis, will work on the permanent protection of the "Old Cemetery" under the Gorica.

President Igor Novakovic and his associates visited the intersection of the “Palilula`s Market” where a pillar of the lighting set up informational - LED display, which alternately shows the date, time, temperature, and phone information for the contact center INFO  48.
